make your own horse pendant
Having a bit of a lazy weekend recently I had the urge to re-visit my inner craft corner. DIY fashion can be a bit of a faff, and price wise it's hard to compete with 'made in China' but you can come up with something original and being able to say 'I made it myself' is very satisfying.
As I mentioned in my last post I've a bit of a thang for leather so I went to a little craft shop near me, and rifled through a basket of scraps. I then found an image of a horse online and cut it out to make a stencil. For the tail I used a tassle, gluing the loop onto the back of the leather with craft glue (actually the most expensive thing I bought) but you could stitch it on. Then I just added a gold stud, as studs are something else I'm into! To finish I hung it on a chain-either rifle through your jewellery box or a charity shop to get a cheap one or get some in the craft shop.
I reckon this cost me around a fiver which isn't bad, but I just really enjoyed the process of being creative. Now I've got started I'll have a go at a few more things, so if you fancy joining me in craft corner, watch this space.
Have you made any equestrian inspired clothing or accessories? Show them off and share tips in my group EQUESTRIAN STYLE FILE at Trot ON.
